kaTana has found some files that allows you to play Doom 2 (1995). The graphics are all bitmap pixels, and the movement is not so fluid but its all about the gameplay and the Double Barrell Shotty

I cant upload the 2x 6mb files complete to the redirect server, but i have used a zip utility to compress it into 2mb chunks, all you have to do is download the parts then uncompress them...

It supposed to be a self extractor, but if it doesnt do it, download the freeware extractor from Alzip Tools, you need the Alzip file.

Any problems let me of kaTana know, there are just a few tweaks you need to do to the game, but we can talk you through them...

First I need to correct something....it's all about the SINGLE shotty!!! (press 3 to toggle between them).

The original Doom2 download from ORCA was a dos only game. It won't run on XP or later on it's own. That primarily why you need the 2nd download to run it in an emulated form.

If you havn't ever played Doom before , you'll probably think we're mad!! . However the jDoom app {also known as Doomsday) lets you configure it to play like a modern fps and does allow some graphical improvements. But you still can't deny that it looks like a dog (unless you did play it all those years ago, and then it looks like 100% ART!)

We play co-op mode. It's just us against the map...
The object of the game is to get to the exit. However, there is a whole load of s%&t in the way.

You can replace all the sprites with 3d models, however that just isn't Doom. However, I would suggest downloading the high rez map textures from the link top link here http://forums.yaa.dk/viewtopic.php?f=32&t=69. I will talk you through how to load them on ts.

right boys........ I've downloaded those files but i think i've not downloaded the actual program.... HELP!!!!!!!!!

1 - Download Alzip (link above)
2 - Install Alzip and associate with all extention when it asks
3 - Run the ALZ file - by Right Click dragging it into an empty space and Extract Here...
4 - This will give you 2 more files deng...exe is the Doomsday Engine, you first need to extract the doom2.zip file, right click drag again to extract.
5 - Run the deng exe file and at the end it will give you a list of Doom type games, untick everything bar Doom 2
6 - It will ask you for the .WAD file, aim it to the location where you unzipped the doom2.zip file to...

Its confusing abit, but we got Daren on last night after alot of confusion ! so come on and we can guide you through it. If you like it you could always install it at work as it requires so little in resources.
